Summary

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining

accurate, efficient, and integrated production schedules for thermoforming facilities.

This role requires advanced review and analysis of order, production, capacity, and

material data across both locations to ensure alignment with corporate goals, customer

requirements, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review and analyze ERP system MRP output, open sales orders, and transfer requirements for thermoforming facilities to determine production and capacity needs.
  • Create and release daily Work Orders across all production workcenters in both facilities to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Responsible for Work Order maintenance (balancing, adjusting, and closing) for all scheduled production across both sites.
  • Communicate daily priority lists to Manufacturing and other stakeholders at each facility, ensuring alignment of both production streams with customer demand.
  • Review combined production schedules and resource allocations for both sites to ensure optimal load leveling, workflow balance, and operational efficiency.
  • Use planning data to assist in determining staffing and equipment allocation needs across both locations based on production demand and customer shipping requirements.
  • Monitor inventory balances at both facilities against inventory targets and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Review unpickable reports for both sites; revise schedules and work orders as needed. Communicate expected availability to Sales and Customer Service.
  • Identify cross-facility capacity issues and proactively highlight potential concerns, including recommendations for load-sharing or schedule redistribution.
  • Coordinate machine and tool maintenance scheduling across the two facilities to minimize downtime and maximize output.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on samples, first-piece production runs, and technical changes affecting either facility.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and OEM customers to implement new product forecasts and requirements into both facility schedules.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse, Traffic, and Sales teams to determine optimal pick, staging, and shipping timelines based on production readiness, warehouse capacity, transportation schedules, and customer expectations.
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of all ERP system Scheduling, Sales, Traffic, and Distribution modules and their interdependence across both facilities.
  • Ensure proper functioning of all scheduling-related software applications by maintaining accurate parameters, planning factors, and system master data.
  • Identify opportunities for scheduling and system improvements, submit enhancement requests, and participate in testing and implementation efforts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two-year degree or certificate in plastics processing, manufacturing, supply chain, or related technical field; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of thermoforming equipment and production processes, with the ability to understand capacity constraints and optimize machine utilization across multiple facilities.

Language Skills

Fluency in English is required. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees including top management in a variety of settings is required.

Work Availablity And Travel

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
